Seoul Cosmetic Surgery is a KHIDI-registered medical tourism facilitator — an agency, not a clinic. We do not perform medical procedures; we match international patients with board-certified surgeons at 30+ partner clinics in Seoul.
What is a skin booster?
A skin booster is a series of tiny injections that place hydrating or regenerating material just under the skin surface, across the whole face. Unlike filler, it doesn’t add shape or volume. It improves hydration, fine lines, texture and glow. In Korea, boosters are usually given as 2–3 sessions about four weeks apart.
Booster vs filler vs Botox
| Skin booster | Filler | Botox | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goal | Skin quality | Volume and shape | Relaxes muscles |
| Where | Shallow, whole face | Deep, specific spots | Into muscle |
| Changes face shape? | No | Yes | Slightly (e.g. jaw) |
| Typical result | Glow, hydration, finer texture | Lips, cheeks, chin | Fewer expression lines |
The main types used in Seoul
| Type | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Hyaluronic acid (HA) boosters | Thin, non-cross-linked or lightly cross-linked HA | Dehydration, dullness, fine lines |
| PN (polynucleotide), e.g. Rejuran | DNA fragments that support repair | Thin skin, pores, redness, under-eyes. See our Rejuran guide |
| PDRN | Similar repair-focused molecule (often called “salmon DNA”) | Sensitivity, post-laser recovery |
| Collagen-stimulating boosters (e.g. PLLA- or PDLLA-based) | Trigger your own collagen over months | Early laxity, texture, acne scars |
| Combination “cocktails” | HA + vitamins/amino acids, often with exosomes | Overall glow; good as a one-trip add-on |
Korea is where many of these products are developed and where clinics combine them most aggressively. That’s the main reason international patients book boosters here.
Which booster fits your skin?
- Dry, dull, fine lines: HA booster.
- Thin, sensitive, red, or under-eye crepiness: PN (Rejuran) or PDRN.
- Loss of firmness, acne scars, enlarged pores: collagen-stimulating booster, often with RF microneedling.
- One trip, one session only: a combination booster or PN gives the most visible single-session change. Ask the clinic which of their products they’d choose for one session, not for a course.
How many sessions, and how to fit them into a trip
Most protocols are 2–3 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart. That doesn’t fit a 10-day trip. The realistic options are:
- One session in Seoul, then continue a similar product at home, or
- Session 1 early in a long stay and session 2 before you leave (if you’re in Korea 3+ weeks), or
- Combine with your next trip if you visit Korea regularly.
Downtime and side effects
- Small bumps along the injection points for 1–2 days (longer with PN and collagen boosters)
- Pinpoint bruising for up to a week
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours, saunas and alcohol for a couple of days
- Fine to fly the next day
What decides the price of a skin booster in Seoul?
Seoul clinics price boosters per session and per product, so two quotes for “a skin booster” can differ a lot. What moves the price: the product brand, the number of syringes (cc) actually injected, whether it is injected by hand or with a multi-needle injector gun, and whether numbing, LED or a soothing mask is bundled. Ask how many cc you are getting, the same way you would ask shot count for lasers, and get the product name in writing. SCS confirms product and amount with the clinic before you arrive.

FAQ
How long do skin booster results last?
Usually about 4 to 6 months for hydration boosters, and longer for collagen-stimulating types, which build up over a course.
Do skin boosters hurt?
Mildly. Clinics apply numbing cream first. You feel quick pricks across the face; PN boosters tend to sting more than HA.
Is a skin booster the same as filler?
No. Boosters are injected shallowly across the face to improve skin quality and don’t change your face shape. Filler adds volume in specific areas.
Can I get a skin booster and fly home the next day?
Yes. Bumps and pinpoint bruising are the main side effects, and none of them stop you flying.
How many sessions do I need?
Most protocols use 2 to 3 sessions about a month apart, though one session still gives a visible improvement in hydration.
