Seoul Cosmetic Surgery is a registered medical tourism facilitator — an agency, not a clinic. We do not perform medical procedures; we match international patients with board-certified surgeons at 30+ partner clinics in Seoul.

How much does an arm lift cost in Korea?

Seoul clinics quote an arm lift per case, and the quote usually bundles anaesthesia, facility fees, a compression garment and follow-up visits; incision length and whether liposuction is added are what move the price. In the US, ASPS puts the 2024 surgeon fee alone at $6,000–$10,500, before anesthesia and facility fees. Plan about 10–14 days in Seoul for stitch removal before flying.

Prices follow the 2026 Seoul price list.

Arm lift vs arm liposuction: which do you need?

The pinch test is the honest starting point. With your arm out to the side, pinch the underside:

  • Mostly soft fat, skin snaps back → arm liposuction may be enough, with no long scar.
  • Loose, hanging skin (common after weight loss, GLP-1 medication or with age) → liposuction will make it worse; you need skin removed, which means an arm lift.
  • Both → lift with liposuction in the same operation. This is the most common plan in Seoul.
Arm liposuction Mini arm lift Full arm lift Extended arm lift
Fixes Fat only Skin laxity near the armpit Skin along the upper arm Upper arm + side of chest
Scar Tiny ports Hidden in the armpit Inner arm, armpit to elbow Armpit to elbow and down the chest
Typical candidate Good skin tone Mild laxity Moderate–severe laxity Major weight loss

The scar: the real trade-off

Every full arm lift leaves a long scar, usually on the inner arm or along the back. Ask where the surgeon places it. Some put it on the inner groove (hidden when arms are down), others toward the back of the arm. Scars take 12–18 months to fade. Korean surgeons usually build scar care into the follow-up plan (silicone, lasers at review visits). Ask what scar care is included and whether you can continue it at home.

Korea vs US: what you’re actually comparing

Korea US
Arm lift price Itemised quote per case (usually bundles anesthesia + facility) $6,000–$10,500 surgeon fee only (ASPS 2024)
What the quote includes Often anesthesia, garment, follow-ups Surgeon only; anesthesia and facility billed separately
Time off 10–14 days in Seoul Similar recovery at home

Always get the Korean quote itemised: anesthesia, facility, garments, scar treatment, follow-up visits, revision policy. Then compare like with like.

Recovery timeline

When What to expect
Days 1–3 Arms raised on pillows, compression sleeves; tight and sore
Days 4–7 Swelling peaks; light walking around Seoul is fine
Days 10–14 Stitch removal; usually cleared to fly
Weeks 2–6 Sleeves on; no lifting over ~5 kg or overhead exercise
Months 3–18 Scar matures and fades

Fly with compression on and move your arms and legs during the flight.

Who is a good candidate?

  • Stable weight for at least 6 months (including on GLP-1 medications)
  • Non-smoker, or able to stop for several weeks around surgery
  • Accepting of a visible scar in exchange for contour

FAQ

How long should I stay in Korea for an arm lift?

About 10 to 14 days, so stitches can be removed and your surgeon can check healing before a long flight.

Is an arm lift scar permanent?

Yes, but it fades. Most scars soften and lighten over 12 to 18 months, especially with silicone and laser care.

Can I have an arm lift and liposuction together?

Yes. Combining liposuction with the skin removal is common and usually gives a smoother contour.

Is an arm lift worth it after weight loss or GLP-1 medication?

If the problem is loose skin rather than fat, an arm lift is the only option that removes it. Your weight should be stable first.

When can I exercise after an arm lift?

Light walking straight away. Upper-body exercise usually waits around six weeks, as advised by your surgeon.
